What is Matcha?
MatchaBar matcha is a handcrafted blend of green tea leaves, steam, dried, and ground into a fine powder. All of our matcha comes from the first harvest of the season, using younger shade-grown leaves from the very top of the plant specifically chosen for high nutritional value and a smooth flavor profile. Our matcha is both rich in caffeine for energy and L-theanine for focus and is packed with antioxidants that help boost your immune system and set you up to take on any challenge.
Us vs. Them
Our founders Max & Graham always say, nothing is worse than a bad matcha. Be on the look out for low-grade matchas offering little caffeine or antioxidants. Our matcha is finely ground under the supervision of our master tea blender in Japan to provide you the best matcha ceremonial grade matcha experience.
BRIGHT GREEN COLOR
Matcha comes in varying grades, which is dependent on a few factors such as color, taste, and smell. In general, the brighter the green, the higher the quality. We get our vibrant hue by using the youngest of green tea leaves when the plant is at its peak freshness.
CAFFEINE + ANTIOXIDANTS
Not all matcha is created equal. Our matcha powder was crafted specifically for functionality and taste. This also means it is higher in efficacy, offering higher levels of caffeine for energy, L-theanine for focus, and antioxidants for immunity.
L-THEANINE FOR FOCUS
Stay energized without the jitters or the crash. This amino acid found in matcha helps ease anxiety and stress, allowing you to crush your Monday Zoom.
1/2 - 1 tsp of matcha powder
5 oz of water with the matcha
Pour your matcha shot into a glass filled with ice and your choice of milk (5oz)
4. Enjoy :)
Stir with a straw and enjoy! To sweeten, add a tsp of maple syrup or honey.
Matcha vs. Coffee
The caffeine in matcha is released over a 3-5 hour period in what we call an “extended-release” effect, offering a gentler, all day energy.
The naturally occurring amino acid called “L-theanine” found in matcha increases your alpha brain wave activity, resulting in a calm, focused feeling.
The caffeine is released immediately into the bloodstream resulting in a quick rush of energy, associated with the “jitters” and an unwanted crash.
High acidity levels can lead to an upset stomach, acid reflux, bad breath, and stained teeth.
